Happy birthday, Rep!

Rep. Allison Tant is hosting a birthday party next month, but she isn’t asking for presents – not for her, anyway.

The Tallahassee Democrat put out an invite for an “Ice Cream Social,” asking celebrants to show up with a donation for the Refuge House, a nonprofit that provides direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to their children and families.

Donors can pick from one of several items on the organization’s Amazon wishlist or make a monetary contribution online.
