The Triumph Gulf Coast Board approved an $11.25 million grant for Northwest Beaches International Airport’s “Project Maple,” an aviation project at an 80,000-square-foot site at the airport. It will fund the proposed aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility, and recruitment of Premier Aviation Quebec.
Premier Aviation is expected to create 250 new jobs with an average salary of $55,000, which is 15% higher than Bay County’s average wage. The airport and Space Florida will build the hangar and lease it to the company. The building is proposed for completion in late 2024, with job ramp-up to commence immediately upon completion.
