CRC committee advances victims’ rights proposal

CRC Committee

On Jan. 19, the Florida Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) Declaration of Rights Committee voted in favor of Proposal 96, known as Marsy’s Law for Florida, which provides victims and their families with rights and protections equal to those already provided to the accused and convicted.

“I thank the members of the Declaration of Rights Committee who voted in favor of this commonsense proposal that will bring the scales of justice into balance for Florida victims and their families,” said CRC member Tim Cerio who proposed the measure.

Next stop for Marsy’s Law for Florida: a vote by the full CRC.
