When I arrived on the Florida State University campus for my freshman year, I quickly learned there was a legend in our midst: senior and two-sport star athlete Charlie Ward. I was immediately impressed.
It wasn’t his prowess on the football field or basketball court, or even the Heisman Trophy or National Championship. It’s his work ethic, leadership skills and humility that I have always admired.
Now, back in Tallahassee, he will be passing along the value of those traits and his experience to the next generation of student-athletes. Welcome home, Charlie. It’s good to have you back.
