A Free Market Approach to Alcohol Sales

The Florida Legislature is considering a bill that would bring Florida in line with 30 other states that allow a free-market approach to the sale of distilled spirits.

Senator Anitere Flores and Representative Bryan Avila are sponsoring a bill that would allow grocers and other retailers to sell distilled spirits without being forced to open their own liquor stores.

All brick and mortar stores are facing steep opposition with the growing digital marketplace. To remain competitive, shouldn’t consumers, and not the government, dictate what items retailers decide to stock on their shelves? Stay tuned for more on this issue.
