by The 100 Companies

Wally was the first black talent agent in the US. He signed Simon & Garfunkel also working with other song legends. After failed ventures, he went to Los Angeles where he took solace in baking his aunt’s cookie recipe.

With financial backing from singers like Marvin Gaye, Wally adapted his aunt’s recipe and opened his first cookie store in 1975. His success spread across the country. In 1988, he sold his company, Famous Amos Cookies after some difficulties.

Wally pursued other ventures and spent recent years advocating for reading with organizations like Read to Me International. He has also written ten books.
