Honor veterans at this annual event

Veteran Events Tally, a volunteer organization dedicated to honoring the Armed Forces, hosts an annual event for Veterans Day. While often on Veterans Day, this year’s event will be held on Friday, Nov. 10.

The event includes:

• 24-hour watch at the Vietnam Memorial (begins the day before)

• FullPress Apparel 5K & one-mile Fun Run

• Parade

• 11th hour ceremony

• Annual Veterans Day Festival in the Park

• Food vendors

• Live music

The grand marshal of this year’s parade is Michael Slagle, a Vietnam-era Marine Corps veteran . It’s an honor bestowed for Slagle’s decades of service to veterans as well as the community in Tallahassee.
