It’s week three of 2019’s legislative session. Bills are moving through the process, and committees are working on the budget. Additionally, there are several initiatives that we need to address this session:
Safer schools: We are working to implement recommendations of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission.
Cleaner water: We must fund research and immediate solutions to toxic blue-green algae and red tide, while expediting plans for Everglades restoration.
Improving state infrastructure: Our infrastructure is aging and our population is growing. We need better roads, more broadband access and more environmentally friendly solid waste disposal systems.
