More than $50 million. That’s the tab, to date, for the May 10 tornadoes according to the City of Tallahassee. Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey said the city is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency so it can get recovery funds and area residents can get aid. Florida officials have asked that the area be declared a major disaster but have not heard back from FEMA.

Three tornadoes hit Tallahassee on May 10. The deadly twisters left two dead and caused lengthy power outages across the capital city. City workers continue to clean up fallen trees and limbs from Tallahassee roads.
