Last week, I saw a Facebook post that a patient at Tallahassee Memorial was having complications from surgery. Because of the multiple blood transfusions this patient needed, the hospital’s supply was falling dangerously low. That post, asking for people to donate O-positive blood, went viral, being shared over 3,700 times.

The Tallahassee Memorial Animal Therapy Program continues to grow, and now includes more than 150 volunteer teams. As our program expands, so does its impact.
