An important step toward recovery for Panama City

Panama City was among the hardest hit places in Florida when Hurricane Michael came through as a Category 5 storm in October 2018. However, the city just reached an important milestone in the recovery effort.

Last month, we held two weeks of events that brought together residents, elected officials and planning experts to reimagine our community. Beyond rebuilding, we’re creating a vision for Panama City’s future through 2050 and beyond.

This fall, we’ll share our recovery plan with Tallahassee and Washington. I’m confident about our progress, but we’ll still need their help to rebuild Panama City bigger, better and stronger.
