On World Water Day (March 22), The Everglades Foundation announced The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation as the presenting sponsor of The George Barley Water Prize, the world’s largest water prize offering $10 million to the person or team developing the most cost-effective technology to remove phosphorus from freshwater bodies.
This is especially important in Florida where harmful algal blooms caused by excess phosphorus are threatening the health of the Everglades and other freshwater bodies.
“ScottsMiracle-Gro is an innovative leader in their industry, committed to solutions,” said Eric Eikenberg, Everglades Foundation CEO. “We are excited to collaborate with them.”
