New measures in Congress to restore National Park Service

by
National Park Service

New bills have been introduced in Congress to find a dedicated funding solution for the $11.6 billion maintenance backlog in the National Park Service. Florida’s 11 parks contributed $904 million in economic output last year but need $262 million for repairs and deferred maintenance.

H.R. 6510 and S. 3172 reach an effective and long sought-after compromise that will help to protect our natural and historic treasures, providing consistent annual funding for park maintenance needs and ensuring that local communities dependent on park visitors will continue to flourish.
