Who We Play For (WWPF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the incidence of sudden cardiac death among teens and young adults by providing affordable cardiac screening to high school athletes.
Voluntary cardiac screenings illuminate risky abnormalities that, if left unaddressed, could be fatal. To date, WWPF has screened more than 80,000 students. It has identified 65 young people, who had no idea they were at risk, with heart conditions requiring immediate care.
“As Who We Play For advocates, we look forward to educating decision-makers on lives that could be spared by preventative screening,” said Samantha Sexton.
