The Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute, University of South Florida Health and the Florida Department of Health hosted a series of discussions March 5 at TGH Brooksville to address the unique cancer-related challenges rural communities face.
“With the incredible technologies available today, nothing should stand in the way of cancer patients accessing breakthrough research, innovative treatments and world-class care. Yet geography remains a barrier,” TGH CEO John Couris said. “By convening bright minds in health care with leaders who can inspire meaningful change, we are breaking down barriers to give every cancer patient a chance at the best possible outcome.”
