42-hour walk raises awareness of child sexual abuse

by
42-hour walk

Earlier this month, legislators, state leaders, advocates and survivors joined Sen. Lauren Book at the Capitol for the Lauren’s Kids “42 Hours for 42 Million” advocacy walk.

Participants walked for more than 42 continuous hours in honor of the 42 million survivors of child sexual abuse living in the U.S.

Held during Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month, this year’s walk took place following the eighth annual Lauren’s Kids “Walk in My Shoes” tradition in which advocates and survivors in cities across the state walk more than 1,500 miles from the Keys to Tallahassee.
