On Saturday, Nov. 12, Gaines Street will be packed with bands, vendors and street performers for “the greatest free one-day local music and arts festival in the Southeast.” Gaines Street Fest began in 2011 as a grassroots effort to combat a slow economy, with the first event featuring around 30 bands.
It was a huge success! In 2012, the fest grew to include more than 100 local performers, and shops and restaurants benefited from increased business. This year, festival organizers are hoping to go bigger than ever before.
Gaines Street Fest runs from 1PM-2AM, and admission is free.
