The opening week of the 2021 Florida Legislature brought new bills, policies and many restrictions based on the pandemic, but the real star of the week was the LEGOLAND rendition of the Historic Old Capitol.
As a gift from Speaker of the House Chris Sprowls, each Florida Representative received a smaller version. The incredible detail of the effort delighted all who have been able to visit in-person, and plans are being discussed for its display when the Capitol re-opens as normal.
LEGOLAND Florida, near Winter Haven, reports 372,435 bricks were used in the 240-hours required to construct the 400-pound model.
