Make Florida a ‘no-fly zone’ for surprise medical bills

by The 100 Companies
House Bill 747

In 2016, the Florida Legislature outlawed balance billing for most medical bills, which can bankrupt Florida families.  However, there is still one way Floridians can be crippled by surprise medical bills – air ambulance transportation.

I’ve filed House Bill 747 to put an end to air ambulance companies being able to charge astronomical balance bills to families who are already suffering from a catastrophic incident.

We did the right thing in effectively ending balance billing to ensure Floridians aren’t sent into bankruptcy while in the hospital; now, it’s time to make sure they aren’t bankrupted by the time they get there.
