For those of us who follow politics, campaigns and causes, this is the most wonderful time of the year. This week, state and local candidates are filing their paperwork with Florida’s Division of Elections to officially qualify for their declared contest.
It’s now up to the candidates to share their positions on various issues with their constituencies. In turn, it’s up to us voters to exercise our due diligence in thoroughly researching these views—cutting through the good (policy issues), the bad (fake news) and the ugly (smear campaigns).
Mark your calendars. Primary is August 28. General is November 6.
