Today is Florida Tourism Day. Representatives from nearly 40 local tourism marketing organizations across the state have gathered in Tallahassee to educate lawmakers about the critical role tourism plays in generating revenue and creating jobs in Florida.
Not only is tourism the lifeblood of Florida’s economy, it is also the major economic driver in most of our local communities.
Funds generated from tourism benefit Floridians by helping fund programs important to our everyday lives, including education, public safety, infrastructure, arts and culture and the environment. We don’t all work in the tourism industry, but tourism works for each of us.
