Florida Agriculture Commission Race Heats Up

Florida’s next commissioner of agriculture will be taking the lead on one of Florida’s most important industries, one year after much of Hurricane Irma had a devastating impact on Florida’s farming community. But before the Cabinet seat is filled, first comes the election with three candidates on the Republican side.

Matt Caldwell is locking up endorsements from House members all around the state, Denise Grimsley’s campaign has gained early momentum, locking up key Senate endorsements and Baxter Troutman has the money advantage, investing $2.5 million of his own cash into the campaign.

Election day is only 356 days away.
