7 Tips on Shooting and Editing Recipe Videos

We’ve seen them. We’ve drooled over them. We’ve shared them. Recipe videos are an internet delight. Popularized by Tasty, they are made to make us think we can cook like Gordon Ramsay. I recently created two such videos. Here are my tips from shooting and editing:

Shooting
• Buy a multi-angle tripod and weigh it down.
• Natural lighting or check out these.
• Use a hot plate.
• Keep heat medium-to-low to minimize steam.
• Clean counter or buy a slab of granite.

Editing
• Edit/remove audio and speed with iMovie.
• Use Typito to add text and audio. Keep it simple.
