The Capital City is host to this year’s biennial meeting of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) being held Sunday, Sept. 16, through Wednesday, Sept. 19, with presentations, workshops and several field trips planned across the region.
Destinations within the Apalachicola National Forest include the Apalachicola River and Wildlife Environmental Area, Big Bend WMA, Torreya State Park and Apalachicola Bluffs and Ravines Preserve.
NABA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1992 and is the largest group of people in North America interested in butterflies. Event details, including registration information, may be found online, and beginners are welcome.
