Celebrate 30th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month

by
Hispanic Heritage Month

From Florida’s discovery in 1513 by Spanish explorer, Juan Ponce De Leon, to our thriving 4.3 million Hispanic population, the Sunshine State is saturated in vibrant Latino culture.

Sept. 15, the anniversary of the independence of five Latin American countries, marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. The celebratory month runs through Oct. 15, focusing on honoring contributions made by Hispanic Americans to uphold their culture and pay tribute to their heritage.

Here in Tallahassee, visit the Hernando de Soto State Archaeological Site, Mission San Luis or Museum of Florida History to learn more about our city’s Hispanic roots.
