Last December, I learned that my application for entry to the 2019 Chicago Marathon had been selected. I, along with several friends, were among 45,000 runners chosen to take part in this iconic race.
My training for the race begins this week and consists of an 18-week program during which I will train on 108 of the 126 total days and run more than 918 miles – an average of 51 miles per week or 7.2 miles per day.
While I have been a runner for my entire life, Chicago will be my first marathon. Wish me luck!
