Christmas Connection (CC) is an initiative of Catholic Charities, but it serves families of all religions, races and ethnic backgrounds.
In 1979, CC was started to help 25 Tallahassee families. The response was overwhelming, and now, CC aids 800 families in five Big Bend counties.
The initiative works to meet families’ basic needs, such as food, clothing, linens and toiletries. It also strives to fulfill wishes by providing holiday gifts for families. Through generous donations, vulnerable children and their parents are warm and fed. They also receive assistance with paying rent and utility bills in an effort to prevent homelessness.
