Tallahassee’s reputation as a city steeped in cultural history has been further enhanced with the opening of The Grove Museum, a sprawling mansion Governor LeRoy Collins called home.
Built by territorial Florida Governor Richard Keith Call, the antebellum plantation played host to various residents, each playing a pivotal part in the city’s civil rights movement and Florida’s history. Following a multi-million dollar renovation, the now state-owned museum – listed on the National Register of Historic Places – features awe-inspiring artifacts, interactive displays and audio exhibits.
Experience the plantation Wednesday through Saturday, with free admission and tours on the hour.
