Leon County Commissioner Rick Minor is pushing for the Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency to put its full allotment of funding for repairs and upgrades on North Monroe Street toward a federal matching grant program called “Safe Streets for All.”

The grant would see the feds cover 80% of the costs for improvements to North Monroe. “We’re taking money that we already have designated for North Monroe, $4.2 million, and we’re using it as a match for a grant application that could bring down an extra $17 million in federal money to help us with North Monroe improvements,” Minor told WFSU.
