Jacksonville Special Election heads into final stretch

by The 100 Companies

The special unitary election for the Jacksonville City Council At-Large seat, vacant since the passing of Tommy Hazouri, is entering the final phase with vote by mail ballots out in Duval County.

Republican Nick Howland is facing Democrat Tracye Polson on Feb. 22 at the polls, with early voting locations opening Feb. 12. The first election turnout was only 12.6 percent, so candidates are fighting a turn-out battle for their base vote, and for the prized votes of no major party registrants.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be requested up until 10 days prior to this election by phone or online.
