This week marks the start of the 2022 Legislative Session, with the first committee meetings being held. Committees will continue meeting through the fall.
The 60-day Legislative Session will begin Tuesday, Jan. 11 and end, if all goes according to plan, on Friday, March 11.
Following the national decennial census in 2020, Florida will begin redistricting the state for both houses of the legislature and for Congress. Florida gained a seat in the House based on population growth relative to other states, increasing the number of federal representatives to 28 for the 2022 elections. The redistricting process will begin this week.
