In just over a month, more than 1,400 Florida State students and 26 staff members have tested positive for coronavirus. These numbers, coupled with FSU President John Thrasher’s desire to stay open, have resulted in sweeping actions to prevent further infections.
Not only has a campus-wide mask mandate been enacted, but there is also a ban on social gatherings over 10 people. The consequence for violating the rules? In some cases, arrest, temporary campus removal or legal action.
FSU has recognized the severity of coronavirus, and the stringent guidelines set forth by the administration are aimed at preventing further outbreaks.
