Floridians for Water Quality Protection coalition announced

Floridians for Water Quality Protection launches a new coalition to fight and advocate for Florida’s water and waterways.

Fueled by the lack of progress in slowing down the crippling algae blooms, the new coalition is focused on the patchwork of 410 city ordinances often not based on science and out of sync with guidance from the state of Florida and the scientific community.

The group is made up of scientists and academics, local businesses, green industry professionals, and community leaders, advocating for consistent and science-based solutions to stop the algae blooms and their harmful impacts on Florida’s environment and economy.
