Florida House passes legislation to keep DNA test results private

Did you know life, long-term care and disability insurers want to gain access to individuals’ genetic testing results?

Even though their businesses are currently profitable, these insurance companies are trying to rig the game. They want to use their customers’ DNA to identify genetic markers and use them to charge customers more money – or even deny them coverage – for a medical condition they don’t have and may never even get.

The Florida House of Representatives has already acted on legislation I have sponsored to keep DNA testing results private and ensure all insurance operates as designed. Find more information here.
