Florida’s 2019 legislative session has concluded, with the only statutorily required bill, the budget, passing out of both chambers on Saturday, May 4. The $91.1 billion budget came together after 60 days of negotiations between House and Senate members.
The governor will now decide whether to keep or veto legislative initiatives and budgetary items. Go here and select “2019 Bill Action” for daily updates. Fun fact: there were a combined 3,494 bills filed this year, with 1,901 registered lobbyists representing 3,924 principals.
Session 2020 is set to begin Tuesday, Jan. 14, and end Friday, March 13.
