Purple lights for victims’ rights

by
purple lights

Last week, in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Florida’s historic capitol building was awash in purple light.

The purple lights served to remind Florida’s leaders that the fight to enact the crime victims’ rights placed in the state constitution through Amendment 6/Marsy’s Law for Florida is far from over.

Victim advocates flooded the capitol last week to call on lawmakers to take action on a Marsy’s Law for Florida implementing bill that would provide clarity and answer questions stakeholders have about its implementation. The bill would also ensure victims’ rights are uniformly, consistently provided across the state.
