Helping kids cope with COVID-19

Our children hear about COVID-19 daily and our own anxieties as parents can be passed on, but there are things we can do to ease their concerns.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) provides several ideas, which include teaching kids healthy habits such as hand-washing, ensuring they are getting plenty of sleep and exercise, establishing new daily routines and setting up virtual playdates.

As parents, we should also model the positive behavior we are teaching our children. And most importantly, we must make sure we are staying connected with our kids and making time to talk to them.
