Equifax has agreed to pay $671 million in settlement funds after an extensive data breach in 2017. Of the $671 million payout, $425 million is to compensate the 147 million affected victims.
“The consumer fund of up to $425 million that we are announcing today reinforces our commitment to putting consumers first and safeguarding their data – and reflects the seriousness with which we take this matter,” said Equifax’s CEO Mark Begor.
