In January, Pew Research Center conducted a study, which showed that approximately 24 percent of U.S. adults haven’t read a book in the past 12 months.
The survey was divided into the following demographics: gender, race, age group, annual household income, level of education, and whether an individual lives in an urban, suburban or rural area.
Pew’s first book-reading survey was completed in 2011 and proved that 19 percent of adults reported to have not read a book in a year. That number reached an all-time high of 27 percent when Pew finished the study in 2015.
