The tale of St. Patrick’s Day began long ago,
T’was the influx of Christians in the Ireland home,
They would feast and parade and drunk they would get,
They’d dance and cheer to their adored Saint Patrick,
He brought so much happiness to the kingdom of Ireland,
Other countries, even America, wanted to join in,
Now across the world we celebrate March 17,
With shamrocks and leprechauns, cabbage and corned beef,
And for just one day, as long as you wear green,
You’re one of the Irish and lucky you’ll be.
May the road rise up to meet you.
