If you’re looking for a fun, active, nature-infused activity this summer, you should definitely check out the St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail.
There’s 20.5 total miles, 16 of which are paved, with canopy oaks for shade. You can run, walk, bike or skate all the way to the coastal city of St. Marks. In the early 1900s, the trail was a railway used to transport cotton to the coast where it was shipped to textile mills in England.
The trail was the first in the state to become paved as part of Florida’s Greenways and Trails System.
