Restaurant celebrates 40 years of good food and community in Tallahassee

by The 100 Companies

On an unknown day in 1983, Uptown Cafe began serving breakfast and lunch in Tallahassee. Fred and Beth Tedio can’t remember what day they opened, but that gives them an excuse to celebrate all year long. Now run by their son, Uptown Cafe has always been built on community.

“Uptown Cares” is a monthly program run by the cafe to give back to the community. Over the years, it has raised money for nonprofits such as LeMoyne Arts and the Humane Society.

Apricot-glazed, smoked salmon is the favorite dish, requiring a three-day process and secret spices to make it perfect.
