WVFS Turns 29

by

This month, Florida State University’s award-winning radio station turned 29 years old. WVFS Tallahassee 89.7 FM is a project of the Florida State University’s Student Government Association and the College of Communication and Information, operating as a non-commercial public radio station.

Affectionately referred to as “The Voice of Florida State,” the station provides listeners an alternative to mainstream radio, promoting a wide variety of music genres.

Staffed and operated by hardworking volunteers, WVFS’ mission is to provide the FSU campus and surrounding Tallahassee community with diverse and spontaneous programming 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
