A Special Session for Daylight Saving Time

by The 100 Companies

As Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, the usual admonitions about springing forward one hour apply. The sun will rise and set one hour later. You know the drill.

And, certain as the sun rises, elected officials will express passionate feelings about Florida and the nation going to full time DST.

We tried it once, in 1973-74. There was even a Special Session of the Florida Legislature to take Florida off the national DST clock. Seems they tried it and didn’t like it, the sun not coming up until after 8:30 am in winter. It was abandoned after one year.
