Consumer Alert: Beware of Scam Artists

Hurricane Hermine is gone, but the devastation she left behind could put consumers at high risk for scam artists trying to cheat the system.

The Consumer Protection Coalition urges you to be on the lookout for unscrupulous home repair vendors and trial attorneys that try to profit off the disaster by asking you to sign an Assignment of Benefits (AOB).

Remember, consumers do not need to sign an AOB to get storm-related repairs. Share this important Consumer Alert with your friends and loved ones. Homeowners must be mindful of home repair vendors offering deals too good to be true.
