Crisis comms 101 for COVID-19

COVID-19 crisis comms

At On 3 Public Relations, we know the importance of good crisis communications. We’ve helped direct the state, Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits through mass shootings, hurricanes, the Zika virus and other dark days.

As you navigate the coronavirus pandemic, here are a few pointers:

1. Less is more. Say what you know, and commit to keeping employees and customers informed.

2. Review scheduled social media posts. Remove anything unfit to post during a health crisis. Promoting happy hour isn’t the best strategy right now.

3. Leave guidance to the experts. If you’re not a doctor, don’t pretend to be one.

Stay safe!
