Tilting away from 2020

by The 100 Companies

Astrological observers and calendar hawks everywhere will be celebrating on Sun., June 20, when the sun reaches its northernmost point in the sky, tilting us inexorably towards winter and marking the first day of Florida’s favorite season: summer.

Summer solstice, from Latin sol (sun) stitium (still), marks the longest period of continuous daylight in the Western Hemisphere, producing the shortest shadow of the year. It shifts between June 20, 21 and 22 annually.

This year, it will officially occur at 11:32PM (EST), so plan on staying up late if you intend to get a head start on your Christmas countdown.
