FSU Fast Start launches to boost start-ups and bolster research

by The 100 Companies

Florida State University has launched Fast Start, a tech transfer program created to help FSU faculty bring their discoveries and inventions to market more quickly with greater reach.

The program codifies simple and consistent terms for licensing and commercialization and allows faculty to execute license agreements quickly with fewer roadblocks and delays, and with more transparency and a clear path to market.

The FSU Research Foundation will receive 5% equity stake in the company, non-dilutable until company investments reach $2 million. The university will in turn provide guidance and support to faculty through the commercialization process, from patent to licensing.
