Legislative leaders just passed a $112.1 billion state budget that now awaits review by Gov. Ron DeSantis. While there are major ticket items, like funding education, health care, transportation and the environment, community projects also worked their way into the budget – hopefully avoiding the governor’s veto pen.
Several Jacksonville projects include $975,000 for the Northeast Florida 21st Century Workforce Development, $540,000 for the Fire Watch Project, $500,000 for Five Star Veterans Center and $500,000 for Atlantic Beach flood mitigation.
