In the 2018 fiscal year, 2.4 million people visited Leon County, thus breaking records for years prior.
A 2018 visitor report by Downs & St. Germain Research shows that the top reason people visit Tallahassee is for business meetings or conferences. The next reason is to visit friends or family members. Other top travel reasons are related to education, special occasions and government. That includes state legislature visits and family vacations.
The study says that 85 percent of visitors have been to the Capital City before, and 78 percent say they would return.
